The Boy Who Cried Wolf in Spanish provides a great lesson that students need to learn, that we should always tell the truth. Sometimes we don’t realize how lying can hurt us negatively and influence how others perceive us. This fable really shows how others can lose confidence in you when you lie to them all the time.

Fables are short stories that are narrated. They usually give an educated message or teaches something about morals.

Students can practice their knowledge of the story by answering the questions, sequencing the events in the order they appear in the story and summarizing the story using the graphs provided. One note about the questions: I did include an answer key for these questions but bear in mind that they are opinion questions, so they could have different answers from the perspective of the student. I would discuss them with them after reading the fable and get their ideas before handing the questions to them. I think it would be very beneficial for the students.
These are the rigor questions that will more than likely be examined in the standardized test.
