About me

Hi!

My name is Carmen Doerr and I’m the person behind The Bilingual Teacher Store.

I create products in Spanish for Bilingual, Dual and Spanish Teachers because I am one and know how hard it is to get those documents anywhere. Especially in Reading and ELA. I love language and enjoy making documents that I know will help teachers on a daily basis. You see, I understand how heavy a teacher’s schedule is because they have to deal not only with planning lessons and getting documents that go with those lessons, they also have to test, observe, report, administrate and are responsible for so many things. They really wear a thousand hats.

My customers get exactly what they want, which is documents and stories written in Spanish. I offer them exactly the material they are looking for, especially when they are third and sometimes fourth grade teachers. How do I know this? My credentials are impressive, my overall quality has been rated at 4.00, the highest mark. Some of my clients have said the following about my work: Francisco M. said about Práctica Diaria de Lenguaje (Language Daily Practice): Amazing resource! This will be incorporated into Daily 5. Thank you!!, Carolina C. said this about “Navidades Hispanas” (Hispanic Christmas) This material will be the info for preparing presentation in my higher grades. They will have to explain how we celebrate Christmas in different countries. I love the info you found for each country. Maria C said: Wonderful! about the Character Traits Posters in Spanish; Joanne S said Awesome! about the Certificate Awards in Spanish and the list goes on.

When I’m not creating irresistible products, you can find me in the kitchen cooking or knitting something for my new granddaughter or just reading and learning about blogging. I have been married for 30 years to my wonderful husband Don, we have two lovely Yorkies Milo and Winston and three adult kids married and gone. We are empty nesters and loving it. We are now in the process of getting a motor home to travel around the states. I am definitely a Latina, Love to do Zumba  and Latin Dance at the YMCA.

Some of the things you don’t know about me…I was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I moved to Houston, Texas in June, 1982. Met my husband three years after moving. Married with a ready made family of three boys and then had a girl with him (Yours, mine and ours). After I worked in the banking industry and the oil & gas business, I decided to become a teacher. I worked as a Bilingual Teacher for elementary students for 20 years. I am fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
