Sacagawea In Spanish
The history of the United States, especially, the discovery of the west and the Pacific Ocean, the discovery of herbs that were edible and the accomplishment of the Lewis & Clark Expedition, was in part a success thanks to Sacagawea.
Even though we don’t know that much about certain areas and period of times of her life, it’s good to know that she was of great importance to the success and accomplishment of the Lewis and Clark expedition that was planned by our President, Thomas Jefferson. President Jefferson wanted the land to be surveyed, have knowledge of the natural landscape and learn about the Native American tribes. He also wanted the making of maps. All this was accomplished in great part because they had an interpreter and a guide that knew the area and spoke the language. The recognition by Lewis & Clark of her abilities to communicate with the Native Americans and to guide them through the land. She also, showed them edible plants and herbs the Indians used to eat and fix food, as well as medicinal ones to cure wounds, diseases, etc.
