Las Reglas De Acentuacion

Here’s an easy way to teach written accents in Spanish. When I first introduced this chart in my classroom and gave instructions to my students about what they needed to do, they were a little bit overwhelmed by it. Afterwards, it became a game and they loved working on the tables and trying to learn the rules and figure out how to write the accents properly. It was fun to find out whether they were right or wrong.
It’s very important for Spanish speaking students to learn the rules of written accents. Their fourth grade test in writing is in Spanish and all these skills are taken into consideration.
I would suggest for you to print the “Tabla de Acentos” on card stock, and laminate for protection. I use these “Tablas” in my small groups until the students learn the rules; then, they are in the writing center for practice on their weekly vocabulary. I use erasers and dry erase EXPO.
