El Dia De Los Muertos – The Day Of The Dead
$7.00
The Day of the Dead is a celebration of life and death. Latin America and Mexico celebrate this day in a different manner. In Mexico, it’s a holiday and it’s celebrated for a couple of days. Their costumes are different from those of Latin America, as well as their beliefs.
It’s a day were the loved one’s spirits come to earth to reunite with their families. The deceased children will come on October 31st and then on November 2nd, the adults will come down and enjoy the festivities their realties have prepared for them. They have special foods, flowers, altars (ofrendas), and rituals.
This celebration dates back to the Aztecs and was changed in most part because the Spanish priests that came to South America, introduced their beliefs (Souls Day). Therefore, their influence changed some of the indigenous beliefs that were more unusual. I have included doctrines of some Latin American countries as well as Mexico.
